destructors return!

Will all his force, Ledger knocks down the shed framework!
Wow, it looks so much better without that rotted out shed!

yard work

We even cleaned out the fire pit and tried to build a new one.
It worked!  We got the fire going!  Unfortunately it only lasted about 2 minutes before it fizzled out.  Oh well, we will try again later this spring!
One of the projects we've been doing during the quarantine is making cards for the elderly people who live in the nursing home around the block from us.  Ledger made a bunch of them and so we brought them over during our walk.
Here's how bad it looked before we did any work.
It looks a little better, huh?
Clean as a whistle!

Sometimes you just have to stop and smell the tulips...
Getting all settled in for our second family movie night.  This time it's Trolls: World Tour!
Our lil chef is at it again- this time we are trying pancakes!
Looks yummy- great job, chef Ledger!
Playing on the equipment while on a walk.  He wanted me to take a picture of his hair standing up!

destructors 2

The other side came down pretty easily.  Like I said, the whole thing was pretty rotted out!
Helping out with the hard work.
Only the bones left.  I think we'll save that for another day.

destructors 1

The before picture.  I had pulled down the back side of the plywood earlier in the week.
Ledger piling up the roofing panels.
One side complete!
So far so good!

surprise picnic

Our first arrow pointed to the front door.  There was then one at the door pointing for us to go outside.
We looked outside and saw another one pointing us to the garage, and one at the garage pointing us to the backyard...
And finally to the backyard where there was a special guest waiting for us- Ledger!  He had laid out a towel for us to sit on and he brought out a bunch of snacks for us to enjoy together, and he was even sitting on the towel holding a beautiful flower!  Oh how Diana's heart just melted!
We sat down and enjoyed a snack or two together.
What a pleased old daddy (forgive the quarantine beard...) who is proud of his thoughtful son!

busy during quarantine

Here are a few examples of the work Ledger has been up to.  This isn't even a fraction of a percent of what he's been drawing!  This kid has blown through over 800 pages of comic panels!
Rolly playing around with his wings!
Yeah, I don't get this one either, but we certainly had a good laugh about it!
This is one in a series titled 'Rolly puts his head in stuff'...
Rolly goes out in the cold.
A little bug gets some super sugary drink.

Busy at the table drawing.
The last movie we got to go out and see before the quarantine.  And let me tell you, it was surprisingly good!  We both loved it!
Our last sit down restaurant visit before the quarantine.  We went to Logan's for dinner.  Turns out it will be the last time we ever get to go to Logan's- it's now closed permanently. Too bad, I have some really great memories of that place!
Ledger going outside to play with one of the neighbor kids.  Ledge doesn't really know how to play basketball very well, so it was really neat to see Noah taking the time to show him some moves and include him anyway!
Ledger and Diana being silly with friends in South Bend.
Someone is pretty pleased to be eating macaroni and cheese!
He's actually excited to go out on his bike now!
A little bit of waffles and cartoons!
Showing off his jams!  They are way too hot for him, so I don't think he will be wearing them again...

even more yard work

Ledger came out to help for a while and it was sunny enough that even Diana came out to soak up some rays.
Well, I guess we have a concrete slab in our yard...

ledger's birthday 2

We've been giving him Minecraft minifigs every day this month leading up to his birthday, and today he got a cool case to put them all in!
Sorting them all so they are in just the right spot.
Ah, now this was the one thing he actually asked for: a plush golum from Minecraft.  It's a combination of two of his favorite things: it's got a snowmans body and a jack-o-lantern head!
His special cake.
Now that's a pleased 8 year old!
Mama especially liked the rainbow layers and confetti icing!

ledger's birthday 1

The little boy, excited to open up his gifts.  But first he had a card to open... and boy was it an awesome card!  I had found this funny card that played music and lit up.  It was a strange and silly song about 'space cats'!  At first he gave us a confused look on his face as he opened it, but once that song started, he thought it was hilarious!  He continued to play it randomly for the rest of the day!
Opening his prizes.
Checking out all the parts of his different gifts.
More prizes.
Now what's in there?
