Our brave boy climbing those steps as he goes down the waterslide for the first time by himself!
somebody is ready for the feast Mema and Papa have prepared!
Showing Papa some of the new comics he wrote.
Mema wanted to check them out too!  They didn't necessarily 'get' them, but they shared supportive words none the less!
Mema making silly faces as we say goodbye and are pulling out of the driveway.  What a goof!

His grandpa Allen gave Ledger a skeleton model and he's been having so much fun drawing it ever since!
The plants are taking over!  all those vines are coming down from two little potted plants we have in the loft.  We love our little 'jungle'!

just being goofy with his daddy!

gatecon 3

a big thumps up for the day from Jon!
winky winky!
The convention hall fills up as the panels begin.
outside the main hall there are some authors and supporting character actors available to sign stuff.
the merch room!  I usually try to get something every year.  I've been collecting SG-1 novels for the past few years.  Last year I bought a few without realizing that I already had them!  This year I brought the doubles with me and asked, oh so kindly, if they would be willing to trade with me the ones I don't yet have.  Amazingly they didn't have a problem at all with it!
all my new loot I picked up this year: a new GateCon shirt, 8 new novels, and a cool hardcover book that features many of the different props from the shows!

gatecon: guests

The highlight of the show is always hearing the great stories from the cast.  This year we had a new guest: Tony Amendola!  He is awesome as Bratak on SG-1, so I was really looking forward to seeing him!
Always a pleasure to hear that wonderful South African accent of Cliff Simon!  He has lived an amazing life, he played Ba'al on SG-1, but he used to be a dancer at the famous Moulin Rouge- yeah, the real one!
The delightful Amanda Tapping finished the convention day for us.  She is always able to come up with a great story or two of how sweet and kind everyone was on the set.  Don't worry, she has some bawdy ones too...

gatecon 1

a lot of the fun of this trip is the drive there and back, always a chance for Jon and I to have a fun time!  Before we left town I drove Jon past the house we had just bought literally the day before!
chillin in the convention hall waiting for the first speaker.  please note, I am wearing a 'Stargate: Origins' t-shirt. Oh, and my purple shirt- a convention staple!
Enjoying the speakers as they share stories and answer fan questions.

A happy wife!
we had a really nice time.  Diana unfortunately had to leave a bit early because it took a lot longer than we had told the family that was watching Ledger, so she had to go and pick him up.

He's lovin it!

He drew pac-man, sonic, Mario, and frogger.  This kid knows his classics!
