once upon a time there was a silly and joyful man named jack. he loved the fall, everything about it- the cool breeze, the changing leaves, and the pumpkins. one night, as he was working late in the fields of his pumpkin farm, he looked up to see the full moon shining down on him, lighting the crop so he could see in the dark evening. the joy of the season, the excitement for the holiday, and the beauty of the moon struck jack on that magical night. he was so pleased about the fresh crop of pumpkins and all the beauty of the season, that he made a promise: he would make sure he welcomed in the halloween season for all time! that night the moon made a special halloween spirit and put it in one of the most beautiful pumpkins in his patch. she then took that pumpkin up to keep, sending it back to earth each october to ring in the new halloween season!
to this day, when jack shows up, that means it's time to get the decorations up and start the halloween celebrations!
