while we were at the comic con there was some crazy weather going on. at one point it was raining, which was quite noisy in the conventional hall. some lightning actually hit a tree right next to the cafe of the convention center! in the picture you can see the part of the tree that got zapped and fell down! cool!

a really great graphic novel called 'watchmen' is coming to the big screen next spring, and these are the toys for that film.
on thursday morning they held a special service commemorating those who had lost their life over the past year in the chemical branch of the army. chad invited us to attend. it was cool to see all the military formality in the ceremony. by going through different formal steps, it really gives the event importance. it was quite moving.
here are some pictures of some of the vehicles on base. mostly, these were taken for my nephew jackson. he will love them!
one of the main things chad has been in charge of since he went to missouri is planning a conference for all of the military chemical department leaders. the conference was going on while we were there, so we got to see some of his hard work being payed off! this tent (roughly the size of a football field) is where everyone met for the event. pretty cool!
