the hospital and room

this was the hospital we stayed at, community hospital of munster.
our post natal room, where we spend the most time and had all our visitors!
it was a really nice room, quite a bit of space and the pull out chair that turned into a bed was actually quite comfortable!
one of the things that diana loved while there was that water cup on the rolling table- they would come and fill that with ice whenever she wanted!
most of my time was spent at the table.  i brought my computer and was able to play and organize all the photos i took during the visit (i think it was around 400 pictures...)

in the glass

it kind of looks like he's in an incubator or something.
both mom and son try to catch a few z's.
just look at that face!
when ever we would have to unswaddle him to change him, he got pretty mad at us!

hands and feet

look at those little fingers!
what a sleepy head!
though he is so small, his feet are quite large!  even the doctors and nurses would comment on how huge his feet were.  and on top of that, his toes were really long!
check out those boats!

where are you?

barbara was kind enough to record poco's reaction to sniffing the blanket that ledger had been wearing.

a healthy return

barbara was so excited to be an auntie!  i have a feeling we will be seeing a lot more of her in the next few months...
mom holding her beautiful new grandson!

heating up

the two grandmas look on as ledger heats up!
mema and papa, wishing they could hold their new grandson.
i was able to roll diana in to the nursery so we could see him again and hold him.  lissa, barbara, and dad all look on with joy!

a new room

with so few seats in the room and so many guests, mom and papa had to share one!  but these proud grandparents were just fine with that!
when david arrived he brought diana's favorite gift: chocolate!
thanks for coming down lissa, it means the world to us!

so fresh and so clean

sleepy head!

welcome to the world, son!

ledger and his proud papa in the delivery room!
look at that face!

warm up

he was pretty quick to gain color but his hands stayed a little purple until he was under the heat lamp.
'whats going on?!?'
sure he looks kind of like an alien, but that will pass.  or so i'm told...
'i'm not so sure about this whole 'born' thing...'
'that's about enough of that- its nap time!'

lay and deliver

with mom and sister there, diana was much more comfortable!  some of the contractions were starting to get really bad, but once that epidural took over, all was well once again.
i stepped over to encourage my beautiful wife during a moment between contractions.
a little thumbs up from sis.

three years

we did get the chance to stop and have a bite to eat.  we stopped at diana's favorite place in merrillville: chipotle!
our last newlywed hurrah!  the cake was pretty good at the wedding, not bad the following year, not that great last year, and, to be honest, pretty gross this year!
good thing we dont have another piece, i'm not sure i could take it...

that darn dog!

when ever i get back from the restroom, our little stinky dog is sitting on my chair!  is he keeping my place warm for me?  thanks, poke, i guess...
he hates it soooo much when his blankets are folded up and he cant muck them up!
the guardian of the kitchen!
we try, from time to time, to make our dog less stinky.  but boy oh boy, does he hate these baths!
peek a boo!

poco's new bed

our little sleepy stink dog livin' it up!  recently we have gotten him out of the habit of sleeping with us at night, instead he has to stay in his own bed.  surprisingly, he hasnt really put up much of a fight.  i think the reason for that is because he loves this new bed so much that he doesnt really mind!
rest up, little one!

gliding home

the whole thing came in pieces, but fortunately the pieces were quite large and mostly assembled already.  i just needed to put the back and arm rests on.
looks nice, huh?  i'm sure diana and i will be spending a ton of time rocking back and forth in this chair trying to get our little one to fall asleep!  thanks again for the great gift!

poco pancakes

the wife and i had pancake the other day and had a little batter left over, so we made a short stack just for poco!  he loved it!

shower at the lake

the really cute cake that diana's mom and david got for us!  it looks good, and tastes good too!
the special mommy of honor, wearing her baby beads and she even has a tropical umbrella in her hair!
aunt nancy and aunt becky chat while everyone enjoys their delicious food.
the women enjoy a couple shower games after they finish their meal.
everyone watches as the special new mommy opens up all the amazing gifts we were given!
