when i got home and checked out the neil jam website i noticed that neil fitzpatrick had been twittering while he was at the convention. the cool thing i noticed is that rex and i got a shout out on his twitter feed! he posted this soon after we left: 'two old school Neil Jam fans totally made my day today' awesome- cause you totally made ours too!
neil jammers
enjoy these little tid bits of neil jam, the way rex and i prefer to read the comic is one out of context frame at a time! it makes a funny comic even better!
sister's pad
barbara's place is really old, and i think its a bit uneven. i think the floor is not quite level because at times it felt like i was in a mirrored fun house! every time i would walk downstairs and look at the dinning room i always thought that it looked like it was at a major slant. unfortunately the photo doesnt show it quite so well, but it seemed like the books on those bookcases could come crashing down at any minute- that's how much of a slant it looked like!
catching up with dad
diana had a great time catching up with miranda- the only problem was that we didn't have long enough with her!

at diana's dad's art gallery. we got to walk around the place and her dad showed us all the new stuff that was on exhibit. there was some good stuff, and some not quite as good stuff on display...

comic con: the aftermath
a mid summer night's walk
gino's west
brains was just minding his own business cutting up his slice of pizza when all of the sudden the knife he was using shot out of his hand and tried to attack him! the thing knew that he was wearing a new shirt so it went right for the kill. fortunately brains was able to calm the knife down and talk with it rationally, asking it to hold off its bloodlust at least until he finishes his dinner... knife: 1, brains: 0.
comic con: homeward bound
nerds galore!
i snapped a few pics of the guys too, this one is by far my favorite- the pissed off expression on rex's face along with the slightly mentally retarded look on brain's face are in perfect contrast!!!
rex was the only one of us who really got into the spirit of the convention by dressing up a bit. he wore his green lantern shirt and even had a green lantern ring on as well!
one thing thats a must while there is enjoying the food in the cafeteria- its actually pretty good! here's jeffry lee checking out the food selection.

another view of the great hall filled with all the wonderful nerds enjoying their day in the sun. well, not actually in the sun, i think most of them would melt if they were in direct sunlight...
comic con 09: the costumes
each year there are always attendees dressed up as their favorite characters just wandering around the floor. here are some of them that caught my eye this year:
i dont remember what this guy is called, but he's one of jabba the hutt's guards in the second star wars movie. it takes real dedication to wear this huge heavy get up in such a warm convention hall! that guy must have been sweating buckets!- but at least he looked cool!
with the 'g i joe' movie just coming out, i was not at all surprised to see a bunch of costumes of the characters from that show. the best of the bunch was this guy in the cobra commander gear. here a young indiana jones was walking up to get his picture taken with him. a strange combination, huh?

comic con 09: toys
one of the parts of comic con that i always look forward to is seeing all the different toys. often times they will have some examples of new toys that are going to be coming out in the next year, or just seeing all the toys that the different retailer booths are selling is a bunch of fun too!
the maxx was always one of my favorite comic book characters, so i always look out for different figures of him. this is a new one that they just released. i would have picked it up, but i had very strict directions from diana: no new toys!!!
another really cool toy i spotted was a giant life size stuffed bone! he was about two and a half feet tall and was really really cute!
these two pictures were taken for aaron. he has always been obsessed with the vehicle from 'back to the future'.
i showed him these pictures to show him this new version, but he wasnt too impressed- he said that one of his half dozen models of it seemed to be more detailed. like i said, obsessed!

dont i know you? 2
another big name there was billy dee williams- the man who played lando clarissian in the star trek movies. i got really excited when i saw him, knowing that he had done many other things than star wars, but none of the other guys really recognized who he was, which i thought was odd.
the second time we went through the celebrity tables i noticed this guy: the one, the only, ernie hudson! i was very excited to see him. almost everyone in line seemed to only care that he was in 'ghostbusters', but when i saw him i excitedly exclaimed to the guys 'oh! look! its ernie hudson! he's the guy from 'congo'!!!' i guess that might make me the bigger nerd though, huh?
dont i know you? 1
con again
